General Purpose:

The Instructor teaches aspiring developers precisely what they need to succeed on a development team. The Instructor will not just teach individuals code; they will teach them to act, think, and work like professional developers. This person will lead a highly immersive, three month boot camp for the most committed, passionate and vetted students.To teach aspiring developers precisely what they need to succeed on a development team. Role Qualifications:

  • Desired: Bachelor's/Master's Degree
  • Minimum: High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in software development in one of the two stacks we teach: Microsoft .NET (C#/ASP .NET/SQL Server) or Java (Java/Spring/MySQL).
  • Experience in Python

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and instruct a 12 week bootcamp, intensive course for either an in-person class or virtual classroom for online students.
  • Utilize a proven curriculum to guide aspiring developers towards entry level capabilities in an accelerated timeframe
  • Possess a clear vision with innovative solutions to teaching software development
  • Work with a leadership team to continuously improve the student experience, by providing students with world-class instruction, provide feedback on curriculum, and equip students with skillset to be immediately successful in a developer role.
  • Analyze data and feedback consistently to ensure the curriculum is up to date
  • Create a game plan for the expansion outcomes that are necessary for success
  • Design outcomes for graduates and track their progress
  • Help recruit other like-minded instructors who care about building the next generation of software developers

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to emphasize and demonstrate the meta-skills and core concepts of professional software development
  • Proven experience and subject matter expertise in field of software development
  • High level of empathy, patience, and an ability to encourage students who are struggling, provide additional challenges to students who are excelling, and always provide and encourage open and honest communication
  • Prior experience with training/mentorship is a plus

 

Special Position Requirements:

The position will require travel up to 50%.
